Australian Arbitration Week

10 Seasons

Australian Arbitration Week (AAW), now in its 11th year, continues to grow. This year we are pleased to announce that AAW will feature over 40 events with support from participating organisations globally. Join us for substantive sessions on topical issues as well as social events to meet old friends and make new connections.

The AAW Welcome Reception is a new addition to the calendar to celebrate the start of an exciting week of events. Well-established as the lead event of AAW, the theme for this year’s ACICA & Ciarb International Arbitration Conference is Following a Black Swan – Transformative thinking and what comes next for International Arbitration. The conference will address how the black swan event of our time has shaped dispute resolution for good.

To support those joining AAW for the first time, ACICA has launched the ACICA Wing Person Initiative. Everyone knows what it is like to walk into an event not knowing a single person. This initiative aims to build confidence and build connections by matching arbitration practitioners who are less familiar or just want a boost with those in the arbitration community who are more confident with their connections to attend events during AAW together. We encourage attendees of AAW to express their interest in participating in this program by 1 September 2023.

AAW aims to bring together communities and address issues across Australia as well as globally. To this end, AAW travels to a different state each year. We are pleased to return to Perth for the first time since 2017.
